Supplementing That Supports A Real Food Diet

I am just preaching to the choir when I say that 2020 has been an exceptionally challenging year, but it isn’t true that 2020 has been only bad. For me, in many ways, 2020 has been highly valuable. Two health-related examples of this include finding a talented physical therapist (Christel Parvey at Sanford in EGF) who has helped markedly decrease my pain, and I also got support at Prairie Naturopathic Doctors in Moorhead, MN to identify the cause of some issues I was having.

Though we focus on living a healthy lifestyle and eating well, I discovered, upon getting labs done, that I was extremely anemic and deficient in everything, no exaggeration. No wonder I felt so run-down and on-edge! Literally, almost all my minerals were below range and some were almost totally gone, including magnesium, sodium, potassium, iron, copper, manganese, zinc, chromium, selenium, phosphorus, et cetera. Additionally, I had heavy metal buildup and poor hormone levels. These results were a bit discouraging because we work so hard to provide our family with optimal nutrients, but after a lifestyle of eating too much, eating garbage, eating a vegan diet, and having 3 babies in close sequence, it makes sense that my body was lacking in so many areas.

Long story short, getting help has drastically improved my nutrient/hormone levels and has lowered my heavy metal accumulation. I no longer have chest pains (those were scary!), hair loss, shakiness, or unexplainable exhaustion. My pain has reduced, my nerves are less frazzled, and I can do a better job being who my children and my husband need me to be. I did this for myself, but also for them. Life at home has been a lot better as my stress tolerance has greatly improved.

Anyway, my main point is this: a healthy lifestyle and diet can only go so far. It is ok to accept and seek help where you need it, especially when you know the quality of your work suffers if you aren’t feeling tip-top. For me, seeking help at Prairie Naturopathic Doctors in Moorhead, MN has been very beneficial. 2020 has taught me many things, and this is one of them: it isn’t worth being so dogmatic about health foods if they just aren’t enough to heal you. After all, your family needs you…but you can’t pour from an empty cup!

Do you find yourself struggling to feel better even while eating the healthiest you can for your family? If so, I’d highly recommend contacting a natural-minded expert in your area. Food is the foundation, but sometimes specific nutrients need to be supplemented to help get your body back in balance. It is best to supplement whilst being guided by a knowledgeable health practitioner.

I hope this little rant of mine can encourage somebody who needs support. This year has been tough, but God always wins and has already won. If you live in my area and need a physical therapist, a family doctor (Dr. Lisa Jamsa is wonderful and delivers babies!), or a naturopathic doctor/clinic, the incredible people I mentioned above may be able to provide what you need. God bless you and cheers to the future!
